Official Court Contacts

Official Tallahatchie County court questions belong with the clerk or court that holds the original record. The county uses separate Circuit and Chancery clerk streams, and Justice Court and municipal records have their own custodians. The contacts below come from the official 2026 state directory and court calendar, the Seventeenth Circuit MEC Court Information page, and Seventh Chancery contact information reviewed on August 27, 2026. Call first to confirm office hours, public-terminal access, current fees, record restrictions, and the correct district before sending a request or traveling.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. This privately operated reference resource cannot pull an official docket, change a hearing date, remove or seal a case, issue certified copies, accept payment, or provide legal advice. The clerk or court that keeps the original record is the proper contact for those actions.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Route a Tallahatchie County request by record type and court custody. Mississippi does not provide a free universal county-case search for every court, so the documented clerk contact often remains the fastest official route.

The Circuit Clerk is the primary Tallahatchie custodian for Circuit Court general civil and felony criminal records. The Chancery Clerk is the separate custodian for Chancery Court records. The official Seventh Chancery contact source lists Charleston at 1 Court Square and Sumner at 100 North Court Street, with weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; confirm the counter procedure before visiting. The Seventeenth Circuit MEC information source lists the Circuit locations as operating 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but holiday and records-counter hours should also be confirmed directly.
