Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes data practices for Tallahatchie County Court Docket. It explains the information that may be received during a visit, the limited ways it may be used, and the choices available to visitors. Use of the site is subject to the practices stated here and to the policies of any outside service reached through a link or search tool.

Data You Give Directly

Search queries

When a visitor enters a name or case number into a search tool, the input is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request under its own terms. Tallahatchie County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of the search terms entered through that provider.

Messages and contact submissions

If a visitor sends an email, the message and contact details may be retained to respond to that message or meet a legal obligation. They are not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is required by law.

Data Gathered Automatically

Servers and service providers may receive ordinary technical information when a page loads. This can include an IP address, browser and version, device and operating system, referring source, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and page-view timestamps.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device that can help measure site use, traffic patterns, and performance. Analytics services may aggregate that information. Browser settings can limit or block cookies, although some site functions may work differently as a result.

How Information Is Used

Information obtained through routine site operation may be used to operate and secure the service, route a search request to the appropriate partner, understand page performance, diagnose technical problems, and display advertising that may be based on interests.

  • Maintaining site availability and security
  • Processing search-tool requests through a partner
  • Measuring traffic and site performance
  • Investigating faults or misuse
  • Delivering advertising services

No Court Record Database

Tallahatchie County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. The site provides general access information about the Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, Justice Court clerks, municipal clerks, Mississippi Electronic Courts, and court-record rules. It does not replace the court or clerk that holds an original record.

The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties. Mississippi court access also remains subject to the Mississippi Public Records Act, court rules, statutes, and orders that can limit release of a particular record.

Third Party Search Partners

Search boxes are provided by outside companies. Information entered into those tools is handled under the partner’s privacy policy, retention practices, and terms, not this policy. Review the partner’s terms before submitting a search. Tallahatchie County Court Docket does not control a partner’s processing or disclosure practices.

External Links and Advertising

Links may lead to clerk offices, court portals, the Mississippi Legislature’s official Code portal, the Mississippi Ethics Commission, government directories, or other outside websites. Once a visitor leaves this site, the receiving organization’s privacy policy governs that visit. Read the applicable policy before sharing personal information.

Advertising partners may collect information across websites to provide advertising services. That activity occurs through their systems and is governed by their own notices and choices.

Who May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold. Information may be shared with providers that operate search tools, analytics services that measure traffic, advertising networks that place ads, and government or law-enforcement entities when a valid legal process requires disclosure.

Data Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information received by the site. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Visitors should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information into a search or message field.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under eighteen. If a parent or guardian believes a child supplied information, they may contact the site to request its removal.

Your Data Choices

Depending on where a visitor lives, consumer-protection or privacy law may provide additional rights. A visitor may request access to information held about that visitor, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where applicable, or an opt out of certain processing. The Mississippi Public Records Act, Miss. Code Title 25, Chapter 61, concerns public-record access and does not convert sealed or restricted court files into unrestricted data. Court filings can also require redaction under Mississippi Rules of Civil Procedure Rule 5.1.

  • Request access to personal information held about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion where the law permits it
  • Ask about applicable opt-out choices

Policy Updates

This policy may change as site practices, services, or law change. An updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Visitors who continue to use the site after an update are subject to the then-current policy.
